Mrbeast’s controversial lawsuit-filled Beast Games will premier next month. On Monday, the YouTuber shared a trailer for the reality competition show, which announced it would air on Prime Video on December 19th.
“I spent over a year creating this 10-episode competition series, breaking 40 world records, building the craziest set in entertainment history, featuring 1,000 players, and winning the $5,000,000 grand prize. I did it!” wrote Mrbeast. “This show will blow your mind.”
“Start the timer!” Mrbeast declares in the microphone before the teaser trailer flashes clips of the squeeze game-style competition show. “With a unique competitive show.”
The teaser was released about two months after five former Beast Games contestants filed a class action lawsuit against the show’s production company.
The lawsuit arrived the same day Rolling Stone announced his investigation. The complaint accused MRB2024 of “shamelessly exploiting labor” of hundreds of competitors, and to avoid employment obligations, including fair wages and essential meals and breaks, under California law. He misunderstood his participation in the show.
The contestants allegedly suffered from “irrational, unsafe, illegal” working conditions, such as “sporadicated and sparsely fed,” and that women were exposed to sexual harassment.
Another claim in the lawsuit said that “lack of calorie intake” provided the competitors “has put their health at risk.” (A contestant who spoke to Rolling Stone said he received a “rice scoop” in a 15-minute break on a 16-hour shift. Another PA said, “The catering used up food multiple times. “I was.”
