Captain America: Brave New World is not only the shortest Captain America movie in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also one of the shortest MCU movies.
AMC Theaters has announced that Brave New World has a running time of 1 hour and 58 minutes. It is one of the few MCU movies to run less than two hours, and the seventh shortest overall (out of 35). The previous three Captain America movies have all been over two hours long.
Most of the short films are from Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the MCU, but a few outliers are more recent. For example, the shortest MCU movie is 2022’s Marvel’s at 1 hour and 45 minutes, followed by The Incredible Hulk, Thor: The Dark World, Thor, Doctor Strange, and Ant-Man” will follow.
Brave New World comes next alongside Ant-Man and the Wasp, which also runs 1 hour and 58 minutes. For comparison, the longest MCU movie is Avengers: Endgame at 3 hours and 1 minute, followed by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Eternals, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. Continue. 3.
Brave New World is now just weeks away from its February 14 release date, and is said to have gone through countless rewrites and reshoots (including scenes surrounding WWE star Seth Rollins). It is unclear how this affected the overall running time.
Brave New World is the first Captain America movie after the retirement of Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, and will be replaced by Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, in the lead role. However, he promised that the film would continue the tradition of the Captain America series as another grounded spy adventure.
It will also feature characters that dig deeper into Marvel lore, such as the introduction of The Leader in return for the trailer included in the second MCU movie, The Incredible Hulk. It also stars Red Hulk.
