Glen Powell, the man behind blockbuster hits like “Twisters” and “Anyone But You,” will make his mark on the comedy genre as a football player in Hulu’s upcoming series “Chad Powers.” A teaser for the show, which Powell co-wrote and co-produced, was released by Hulu in fall 2025.

In this short clip, we got a glimpse of Powell as a college football quarterback who attends a game disguised as Chad Powers. The show revolves around the character of an actor from Twisters whose NFL dreams are derailed due to his bad behavior.

Hoping to revive his career, he disguises himself as a rookie player by wearing false teeth and a wig. The 15-second clip showed Chad joining a struggling Southern football team in search of a second chance at his dream.

The concept was first explored by real-life quarterback Eli Manning in a 2022 sketch for SPN+’s Eli’s Places. Produced by NFL Films and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, the segment featured Manning disguised as Chad for a walk-on tryout for the Penn State football team.

The comedy series was first announced by Powell and co-writer Michael Waldron in a joint statement in February. “We are both avid college football fans, and when we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew this was the path to a big, fun story about this world,” the statement read. It is written.

“We’re excited to be a part of this team and can’t wait to get Chad in the game. Think fast, run fast,” he added. Powell, Waldron, Eli, Payton and ESPN will serve as executive producers for the series. Steve Zahn, Wynn Everett, Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Preyer, and Frankie A. Rodriguez round out the cast.

“Something is coming. Something big,” Powell says in the teaser. According to the show’s official synopsis, the series follows “disgraced college quarterback Russ Holliday, who disguises himself as Chad Powers and joins a struggling Southern football team to revive his football career.” .

The Top Gun: Maverick actor admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that it was one of the most “difficult” roles he’s ever played. “He’s like the worst guy on the planet wearing the mask of the mildest southern guy you’ve ever seen,” he added.
