A decade after normcore turned everyday staples like gray hoodies and black leggings into fashion statements, luxury brands are once again finding inspiration in the least glamorous items in everyone’s wardrobe. At Ferragamo, the models looked like they had just returned from ballet class. Tory Burch pool. Track practice at Tod’s. None of these items (except for the sequined tank) are so attention-grabbing that they’d look out of place at the gym or coffee run. The charm here lies in its smart styling. Thinking about color, texture, and layering can make your basics look classy.

Leopard print, which was all the rage in 2024, is far from over by 2025, and in fact, snakeskin, zebra, and just about the entire animal kingdom are joining the leopard print. (Everything is fake, of course.) There is rarely consensus across the industry, but this one is perfectly clear. Prada, Gunny, Lure, Dries Van Noten, Jacquemus, Nanushka, and Karo Edition all used animal print in some form. If you’re not ready to wear a dress, a faux fur coat or semi-abstract skirt is a great place to start.
9. Simple asymmetry

One of the easiest runway trends to recreate this year on a smaller scale is asymmetry. Artistic and intriguing, these pieces will make you want to look twice and exude the sense of ease you’ve just put on. I was most fascinated by Alaïa and Bottega Veneta’s asymmetrical skirts. The latter leans almost imperceptibly to one side, suggesting that it has been worn out before heading out the door. But quirky products from Dior, Burberry and Tory Burch are also a feast for the eyes. The items below are proof that you can take your wardrobe up a notch with very little effort.
