We’re all ready for a brand new year, but let’s be honest, like every year we look back at our wardrobes and figure out what to keep and what to put away (until it’s back in style). I often feel it. And let’s be honest, while some styles are back on the grid in 2024, it looks like many of this year’s trends won’t make it to 2025.
Think about what these are. Well, we’ve rounded up five such trends that we don’t think will be coming any time soon next year, and rightfully so.
The 5 worst trends from 2024 and what to wear instead
It’s been quite the year when it comes to fashion and trendy moments. In the meantime, let’s take a look at this year’s worst trends and what to buy for 2025.
1. Ditch barrel leg jeans for comfortable pants/trousers
I don’t think the trend was ever worth jumping on, but if you’re loving these denims in 2024, it’s time to trade them up and opt for comfortable and smart trousers/pants instead. You can play with it as you like and style it to your heart’s content.
iDiva Picks: ZARA Loose Fit Dart Pants, Rs 1,770
Just as you don’t necessarily need to pair your denim with a crop top or an oversized T-shirt, your wardrobe should include basic pants and comfortable pants. You need to play around with your look, and pants have a lot of room for that.

2. Remove the platform sandal from the slingback heel
I like both block heels and sandals, but platform sandals may not be the best style for every outfit. Some people enjoy wearing them with long jeans. This will add height and a pop of color to your look.
But we’re in the era of kitten heels and short slingback heels, so everyone should be buying them in 2025.
iDiva Picks: Charles & Keith Leslie Metallic Accent Slingback Pumps, Rs 8,499
Slingback pumps are a true classic that you can never go wrong with. How you style it and what color you choose depends on your personal preferences. But some things always look great no matter how you style them.

3. Ditch everything oversized for an asymmetrical fit
Our fashion predictions suggest that asymmetrical patterns will be IT in fashion this year, and oversized looks will be in fashion in 2024. I’m tired of baggy jeans, oversized blazer and t-shirt T-shirt dresses etc.
Now is the time to put a twist on all this and make fashion interesting.
iDiva Picks: MANGO Asymmetric Neck Sheath Midi Dress with Slit, Rs 4,805
It’s a popular brand, black, midi length, and comes with a slit, so it’s easy to choose. And of course, it is in line with the inclinations of our hero, so there is no need to worry. Really, I love this style and it gives me ideas for styling such fits.

4. Ditch the mismatched blazer and go for soft formals.
Choose vests, waistcoats, etc. pant suit Instead of wearing jeans and a random blazer. Sure, some select looks are classic, but for now, soft formals are the way to go.
Simply add a nice pair of pants and layer a vest to change the look. Then you’ll see what I mean.
iDiva Picks: Pink Moon Burgundy Corset Top, Rs 999
This is especially perfect for all the plus size girls. Because plus it doesn’t have to be boring. Therefore, you can choose this corset top on its own or style it as a base for anything you want to layer. Formal is fun too!

5. Remove cutouts for fabric regeneration
Everyone has dresses, tops, and maxi’s with stunning cutwork and cutout details here and there. But now it’s time to throw them away because they are really outdated and every outfit looks the same.
Instead, experiment with fabrics and see how you can change things up with sheer fabrics, tulle fits, or even fancy lacework.
iDiva picks: H&M lace skirt, 1,999
I didn’t find the right inspiration to wear something like this, but I’m sure every fashion girl has seen at least one person styling a skirt like this. Although it’s a bold choice, it can look appealing if styled correctly.

Honestly, in 2025 there will be so many trends that people will no longer blindly follow existing trends and they will become very fashionable. Take 2025 fashion at face value and keep experimenting. However, be aware of when it’s “uncool”.
