The Producers Guild of America has announced the nominations for the 2025 PGA Awards across film and television categories.
The guild’s highest film award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of a Feature Film, includes Anora, The Brutalist, Completely Unknown, Conclave and Dune: Part 2. , “Emilia Perez” and “A Real Pain” (September 5) are nominated. Substance and Wicked.
Last year, Oppenheimer won the Zanuck Award prior to winning the Best Picture Oscar. Twelve of the past 15 Best Picture Oscar winners have won the Zanuck Award.
On the TV side, drama series nominations include “Bad Sisters,” “The Diplomat,” “Fallout,” “Shogun,” and “Slow Horses.” Comedy series nominees include “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Curve Your Enthusiasm,” “Hacks,” and “Only Murders in the Building.” And limited series or anthology series nominations go to Baby Reindeer, Feud: Capote Vs. Swan, Penguin, Ripley, and True Detective: Night Country.
The guild was originally scheduled to announce its film and television nominations last Friday, but due to the wildfires raging across Los Angeles, the announcement was postponed twice, to Sunday, January 12th and “next week.” Ta.
The guild extended its voting period after last week’s fire, giving members until Saturday to vote for this year’s nominees.
The Producers Guild, in collaboration with the Entertainment Community Foundation, has also established a fund to support producers affected by the fires.
The guild is donating a portion of the net proceeds from the Producers Guild Awards to the fund, and its members are also contributing, with $300,000 already donated.
Many awards season events have been postponed due to the fires. The Critics’ Choice Awards, originally scheduled for January 12, have also been postponed twice, first to January 26 and then to an undisclosed future date. The Grammys and Oscars have brought forward their ceremonies scheduled for February 2nd and March 2nd, respectively, but those galas have been scaled back and the Oscars has announced nominations and announced Academy members this year’s nominees. The voting period for voting for works has been extended. It has been postponed twice, first to Sunday January 19th and then to Thursday January 23rd.
The PGA has already announced nominations in the documentary, sports, children’s and short-form content categories.
The 36th Annual Producers Guild Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Saturday, February 8th at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, which will also raise awareness for the foundation.
