The Golden Globe Awards are over and the Oscar race officially begins!

The 97th Oscar ceremony is scheduled for March 2nd, starting on January 23rd when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announces the Oscar nominees.

There is currently no true front-runner in the Best Picture race, so it will likely be a battle between The Brutalist, Conclave, Emilia Perez, and Wicked.

Directors Jacques Audiard, Edward Berger, Brady Corbett and Anora director Sean Baker are all set to be nominated, but Wicked director Jon M. Chu is not so easy. However, he has to fend off competition from Corey Fergito from “Substance” and James from “Completely Unknown.” Mangold and Denis Villeneuve in “Dune Part 2.”

The race for Best Actor and Best Actress appears to have a fixed number of four actors in each category, with several candidates vying for the last hope spot. Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña are favorites to receive nominations in the supporting roles category, but the rest of the nominees are almost certain to get it as well.

Prior to the nominations announcement on January 23rd, Moviefone has predicted Oscar nominations in major categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

Let’s get started!
