Tokyo, Japan:

After a Russian bomber flew through international waters nationwide, Japan had scrambled fighters, said on Friday, the top government in Tokyo.

“Yesterday, we confirmed that Russian military bombers and fighters flew through the Okofutsu Sea and the Sea of Japan, and we have scrambled the SDF fighter in the air.”

“It’s difficult to clearly say what the purpose of flight is … but the Russian army is continuously active in Japan,” he said.

Tokyo has raised Moscow in the past through diplomatic routes, including Russian fighters invading territorial airs in September, according to the media report.

“We will do our best to keep monitoring the (situation) carefully and deal with patrols and airspace invasion,” said Hayashi.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on a telegram on Thursday that two long -range bombers had flown in the Sea of Japan and the Ocofutsuku Sea.

The Russian Ministry has also released a video of two Topolev-95 aircraft escorted by a Russian fighter for more than 8 hours.

“All flights from the Russian aerospace unit aircraft will be strictly based on international rules for the use of airspace.”
