What is Jevons Paradox? Satiya Nadera explains, “When AI becomes a product, its energy demand will risen rapidly!”

Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has recently pointed out an attractive economic phenomenon in the X account in the AI world.

“Jevons Paradox will attack again! If AI becomes more efficient and easy to access, it will increase to a product that is more efficient and easy to access.”

What is THEJEVONS’s paradox?

As described by nadella, Thejevons Paradox believes that advances in technology that make resources cheaper or more efficient often lead to an increase in demand for that resource.

In the case of AI, the system may grow significantly as the system becomes more powerful and easy to access. As a result, AI may change AI to more demand than ever, as more industries and individuals use it to execute a wide range of tasks.

There are many advantages to improving AI efficiency, but Nadella’s mention of Jevons’s paradox shows interesting side effects. As AI runs more tasks and is used widely, the demand for energy to move these systems may increase and overall consumption increases.

This paradox suggests that by making AI easier to access, the executable tasks can be expanded with availability, which may lead to the use of resources.

(This is a developing story. Come back for details)
