Chanel Banks is back in the headlines after the Gossip Girl alum requested a temporary restraining order against her cousin Daniel Tori Singh and her mother Ruchmin Judy Kumar. The complaint filed by Chanel alleges that two women harassed her and worked together to “concoct” the story of her disappearance, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
She also claimed that:
“They orchestrated this plan to publicly humiliate me and ruin my career as a professional actor.”
Chanel claimed that Danielle and Ruchmin repeatedly tried to contact her, despite the pair making it clear in October that they wanted to distance themselves from each other. The actress said she filed a missing persons report claiming Chanel was missing because she lost contact with the two women.
Additionally, the complaint filed by Banks also alleges that her mother and cousin tried to contact her even after her husband Carlos Jimenez assured her that the actress was safe, according to Page Six. She also noted that the two insisted not to speak to Carlos and wanted to speak directly to Chanel.
For those who aren’t familiar, Chanel Banks, also known as Chanel Farrell, is best known for her role as Sawyer Bennett on Gossip Girl. The actress also appeared in other television series and movies such as “Blue Bloods” and “Twelve.”
Chanel Banks claims her mother and sister broke into her home on November 10, 2024 – details investigated
Chanel Banks filed a restraining order against Kumar and Singh, alleging that on November 10, 2024, they entered her apartment with the intent of attacking her husband. Since she was out of town at the time, the mother and daughter allegedly took her husband’s work badge and installed an Apple AirTag in her car to monitor her movements, she said.
She further claimed that when Chanel refused to speak to Ms. Kumar and Ms. Singh, they repeatedly accused her husband, Ms. Jimenez, of murdering her. According to Page Six, the actress also claimed that both women said Chanel needed to be placed in “psychiatric detention number 5150.”
The debacle comes just a month after Singh and Kumar filed a missing person’s report after failing to find Chanel at their Los Angeles home. Speaking to Eyewitness News at the time, Daniel Singh claimed:
“Not hearing from my cousin for five days is a red flag and a wake-up call. She never goes more than 48 hours without talking to me or her mother. She’s like a big sister to me. .”
However, Los Angeles Police later revealed that Chanel was found safe. Mr. Banks issued a statement letting the public know that she was not missing. Speaking to True Crime News in November, Chanel Banks said:
“My name is Chanel Banks. I’m a 36-year-old American. And I’ve been quietly carrying the pain of ritual all my life…abuse, manipulation, and constant suffering since childhood. It’s an absolutely endless pain.” A defenseless baby is in the hands of my own so-called family, and they are all very concerned about my current whereabouts. ”
Chanel Banks continued:
“Not only did I meet with the police and find that I was safe, I was finally free. For the record, aside from a few parking tickets here and there, I have no mental health issues. I have no health or any other records, so law enforcement will no doubt pursue me relentlessly.”
Additionally, in her complaint seeking a restraining order, Chanel Banks claims that her family harassed her and her husband and left marks on Carlos Jimenez’s body. However, TMZ reported that several people close to the family revealed that Jimenez was marked on him long before Lucchmin and Daniel allegedly forced their way into the apartment.
The accusations against Chanel Banks’ mother and cousin have shocked and surprised the public, but neither has spoken out about the incident at this time.
