Vivo Y29 5G was launched in India on Tuesday. The smartphone is powered by a 5,500mAh battery and supports 44W wired fast charging. This mid-range product has an IP64-rated dust and splash resistant construction and is claimed to have ‘military grade’ durability. According to the company, the phone features a cushioned structure that acts as “drop-proof armor” when paired with the Wavecrest phone case. Vivo Y29 5G is available in the country in four RAM and storage configurations.

Vivo Y29 5G price in India starts from Rs. The 4GB + 128GB option is marked at $13,999, while the 6GB + 128GB version is marked at $13,999. 15,499. On the other hand, the 8GB RAM variant with 128GB and 256GB storage options is priced at Rs 2000. 16,999 rupees 18,999 each.

Customers can avail cashback of up to 1 million yen. 1,500 when purchasing Vivo Y29 5G. SBI Card, IDFC First Bank, Yes Bank, Bank of Baroda and some other bank cardholders can choose EMI options starting from Rs. Get V-Shield device protection for 1,399.

The handset comes in Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, and Titanium Gold shades. It can be purchased domestically from the Vivo India website.

Vivo Y29 5G specifications and features

The dual nano SIM enabled Vivo Y29 5G comes with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It features a 6.68-inch HD (720 x 1,608 pixels) LCD screen with up to 120 Hz refresh rate, up to 1,000 nits brightness level, and 264 6.68-inch HD (720 x 1,608 pixels) LCD screen. TÜV Rheinland certified for ppi pixel density and low blue light.

Vivo powers the Y29 5G with a 6nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. Depending on the variant, the RAM can be further expanded up to 8 GB and the storage can be expanded up to 1 TB via microSD card.

In the camera department, the Vivo Y29 5G sports a 50-megapixel primary sensor along with a 0.08-megapixel secondary sensor at the back and an 8-megapixel sensor at the front for selfies and video calling. The ring-shaped LED flash unit supports dynamic lighting, allowing users to customize different colored flashing lights during music playback, reminders and other alerts.

The Vivo Y29 5G packs a 5,500mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging, which is said to be able to charge the phone from zero to 100% in 79 minutes. In terms of security, it has a fingerprint authentication sensor on the side. The phone has an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, as well as SGS 5-star drop resistance and MIL-STD-810H durability certification.

Connectivity options on the Vivo Y29 5G include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, OTG, FM, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is equipped with an accelerometer, an electronic compass, an ambient sensor, and a proximity sensor. The main body size is 165.75 x 76.1 x 8.1mm, and the weight is 198g.
