Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $3.36 billion contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide logistics support services for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft. This contract benefits both the domestic military sector and international customers and represents a significant investment in maintaining an advanced fighter aircraft.
The contract includes a wide range of activities including ground maintenance, base operations, supply chain management and pilot training. Additionally, operations and maintenance of automated logistics information systems are included to ensure seamless support of the F-35 program.
Work under the agreement will span multiple states, including Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia and California. The contract extends through December 2025, ensuring long-term operational readiness for the F-35 fleet.
This modification will support F-35 aircraft used by the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as partner nations and foreign military sales customers. Funding for this contract is provided by a combination of the fiscal year 2025 U.S. operations and maintenance budget, contributions from partners other than the Department of Defense, and foreign military sales revenues.
Naval Air Systems Command will oversee implementation of the contract, which highlights the global reliance on the F-35 as the foundation of modern air combat capabilities. This agreement reflects continued efforts to ensure aircraft are capable of meeting diverse operational requirements.
