Trichy: School Education Minister Anvir Mahesh Poiyamozhi said Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has elevated the country’s standing in the field of sports. “In the last three years, the DMK government has awarded prize money worth Rs 12,000 crore to 680 athletes. Udhayanidhi Stalin is working tirelessly to transform Tamil Nadu into the sports capital of India.” He told reporters here on Sunday.
Later, at a grievance redressal meeting held in Tirufernbur, the minister received petitions from residents of Indra Nagar, Vignesh Nagar and Santosh Nagar and asked the authorities to respond to them promptly.
“Over the past three years, we have undertaken development projects worth Rs 7.14 billion in Tirufernbur constituency, including road construction, pipeline laying, establishment of anganwadis and primary health centres. The grievance redressal council will help us identify and address issues faced by the public,” he said. Earlier in the day, the minister flagged off a mini-marathon organized by the DMK students’ wing to celebrate Udhayanidhi’s birthday.
