It’s no one can accurately see if President Donald Trump’s bid to end the war in Ukraine will work out, or if he will be able to fulfill his appreciation of his “saving millions of lives” I don’t know about it. But here in Europe, it should become clear soon. Trump’s direct overture to Russian President Vladimir Putin exposes the indifference and impotence of the European Union by ending a bloody war at its own gateway, not just the broader global politics of power. .
Trump to Putin suggested that the two should work “very close” to achieve peace. This will be difficult to achieve in an increasingly multipolar world. As I explain the point, when news about Trump’s overture to Putin was broken, China was wearing its own hat in the ring as a potential peace intermediary.
But what Trump is already accomplishing is to destroy making the EU feigning a major player. All of the big stories of Europe standing solidly, supporting Ukraine and not making concessions to Putin’s Russia, are revealed as an empty political stance.
Just as this truth was lit, there was a clear sense of panic in Brussels, with a meeting of the NATO Minister of Defense being held this week. The Weimar Group, the defence association that includes Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland, has rushed to issue a statement along with the UK.
“Ukraine and Europe must be part of the negotiations,” he declared. They are clearly right about Ukraine. Asked whether Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelensky would be directly involved in his peace talks, President Trumpe said, “An interesting question. I think they have to make peace.”
However, attempts by the great powers to impose a contract on the head of Ukrainians are unlikely to bring about lasting peace. Unless both Ukraine and Russia are able to seriously sign up for a real agreement, it is likely that the paper deal is a prelude to another conflict.
But the leader of Weimar’s group is on the ground more intense when he insists that “Europe must be part of the negotiations.” Alongside former US President Joe Biden, the EU spent three years invading Russia’s grand support for its promised support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, but where its mouth is, its military muscle was It was never actually placed.
Instead, former British Army Colonel Richard Kemp wrote in the Daily Telegraph: Response in 2023.
The harsh stories of EU leaders are exposed as signatures of empty political virtues, primarily for domestic consumption. It is no wonder they seem to have been pledged to fight the last Ukrainians. Behind Bragadocio there was no prospect of NATO involved and escalating the conflict.
The future prospects for Ukraine, joining the Russian red line NATO, have long been ruled out by Europe as the ultimate safety measure. Now Trump simply says it’s “not practical.” The EU Foreign Minister is about to assert that Ukraine’s NATO membership is “still at the table.” But the pressing question for them is whether they are sitting at the negotiation table.
Such a bloody war cannot be managed by high-minded press releases and photo opportunities in Brussels. The EU’s stance has only helped to raise and exacerbate Ukraine’s ground stakes.
Meanwhile, the brave resistance of ordinary Ukrainians to invade Russia’s homeland has once again emphasized the need for people to defend their national sovereignty. That’s a lesson we all need to keep in mind.
From Israel to Ukraine, we live in a world of conflict, and as demonstrated in the first few weeks of President Trump’s inauguration, old, failed rules and nasal passages no longer apply. In order to prepare unexpectedly, European countries must now ensure that they have their own defenses.
But that doesn’t mean putting trust in the Brussels elite and talking about centralized EU forces, or bureaucratic defence coalition dragged in the UK.
Do you really want an empty ship in EU politics? Do you trust that unelected Brussels officials, such as “Queen” Ursula von der Leyen, decide on European war and peace policies, just as they tried to do Ukraine effectively?
We cannot entrust our future to a great power or an epic globalist. Instead, let European sovereign states build their own foreign and defence policies. And if your country wants to live in peace, it gives you inspiration from people like the people of Israel who have shown you that no matter what others in the world say, you need to be ready to stand up to it. Let’s do it.
