Vice President JD Vance is leading the US to France, which has attracted around 100 countries on February 10th and 11th to focus on AI potential.
US attendees include members of the White House Science and Technology Policy. Principal Deputy Director Lynn Parker and senior policy advisor Sriram Krishnan, artificial intelligence, are OSTP spokespersons.
But President Donald Trump’s administration has abolished plans to be attended by Homeland Security and Commerce Department officials. Among those whose trips were cancelled are representatives from the U.S. AI Safety Institute, people close to the Washington plan who spoke on condition of anonymity said.

Founded under former President Joe Biden, the institute focuses on measuring and mitigating specific risks from AI, signing a contract with the famous US startup Openai and humanity for safety testing. It’s there. He says the job is bipartisan.
But now without the supervision, the new administration’s plans for a fledgling body remain unknown. Trump has revoked another AI executive order related to Biden.
People warned that Paris’ absence likely reflects the way the Commerce Department, where the institute resides, is still in the transition after Trump took office on January 20th.
The Paris Summit also has been rejected as it is less at risk for AI than its previous global gatherings at Bletchley Park and Seoul.
The international network of AI safety agencies, chaired by the US and made up of members of various countries around the world, is expected to have a presence, people said. Ongoing work involves the US
People said US representatives could take part in network discussions. Ensuring Washington leads innovation has become even more important due to China’s recent success in AI, people said.
