President Donald Trump and his Doge Watcher appear to be training their eyesight in legacy media outlets with three established publications early Thursday morning.
Politico and The New York Times once again dressed up in the Trump crosshairs, but Reuters were added to the lineup with a pair of true social posts, making it seem like Elon Musk’s government efficiency calls.
“Doge: Radical Left Reuters appears to have been paid $9,000,000 by the Department of Defense to study “large social deceptions,” the president wrote. “Give me the money back now!”
“Doge: Why Politico was paid millions of dollars? Buy the media? Pay back the taxpayers! How much was the failed New York Times paid? This keeps it open Are you money? They’re buying the media!” he shared in a follow-up post.
“We can see that the $8 million or more taxpayer dollars we made to essentially subsidize our US taxpayer subscription to Politico on DIMEs is no longer happening,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said last week. “The Doge team is currently working on cancelling these payments.”
Musk herself shared the same news late Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Reuters were paid millions of dollars by the US government for a ‘major social deception’. That’s literally what you say in the purchase order! They are a complete scam. It’s just amazing. ”
Trump is scheduled to hold his next press conference at 1pm Thursday.
