The first week of December 2024 saw some powerful announcements in the technology space, pushing the boundaries of new features and design. This week’s latest add-ons in technology.

OnePlus 13 India launch confirmed

After much speculation, the Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed that OnePlus 13 will be released in January 2025. OnePlus 13 will be available in three colors: Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse, and Arctic Dawn.

Launched in China in October, OnePlus 13 features a 6.82-inch BOE X2 2K+ AMOLED display with 4,500 nits of maximum brightness. It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and offers configurations of up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

iQOO13

iQOO on Tuesday unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the all-new iQOO 13, which claims to be India’s fastest smartphone.

Powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the phone features a 6.82-inch 2K 144Hz display with dynamic Monster Halo that provides real-time alerts for calls, messages, games, and music. I am.

It is said to have scored over 3 million points in the AnTuTu benchmark test. On the back, there is a triple camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony IMX 921 VCS true color camera.

It boasts a 6,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. iQOO 13 runs on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box.

Techno Phantom V2 series

Techno will launch the PHANTOM V2 series, the second generation of foldable devices, on December 6th. Its aggressive pricing will give this phone stiff competition from other foldable devices in the Indian market. The PHANTOM V2 series includes PHANTOM V2 Fold and PHANTOM V2 Flip.

Touted as “the most powerful fold ever,” the PHANTOM V2 Fold is expected to improve productivity with a series of AI-powered features. It comes with a 5,750mAh battery, a 6.42-inch cover display, and a nearly wrinkle-free 7.85-inch main display. The company has priced this device under the ₹1,00,000 price range.

On the other hand, PHANTOM V2 Flip focuses on a compact design.

Amazon Gen AI model

Amazon announced six variants of the Nova family of models at its flagship summit re:Invent 2024. These include Nova Micro, a low-latency text-to-text model. Nova Lite is a multimodal model for processing images, videos, and text input. Nova Pro as a multimodal mode. It has USPs of accuracy and speed. The other is Nova Premier, a multimodal model that can perform complex inference tasks.

Also introduced were Nova Canvas, which is useful for image generation, and Nova Reels, a studio-quality (6 seconds to 2 minutes) video generation model.

OPPO Find X8 series is now on sale

The previously mentioned OPPO Find X8 series was launched in India on December 3 at the OPPO online store, Flipkart, and other retailers. The latest devices include OPPO Find X8 and OPPO Find X8 Pro.

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, the main highlight of OPPO Find X8 Pro is the quad-camera setup that includes two telephoto lenses.
