These are seven Scandinavian style trends to steal this season

I have always had a soft spot for the classic sophistication of Parisian women, but recently my social media feed bursts with the image of Scandinavian women absolutely nailing their cold weather style I’m doing it. It’s the perfect time to see this switch when we tackle the chilly New York winter. Some of them in the world (Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm) deal with more cold temperatures than most places, so you can trust that these stylish gals have really mastered the art of cold climate dressings . And their cool look is just the inspiration I need right now!

After hours scrolling through my FYP, I realized that they had noticed the secret of staying stylish in the city’s tundra. Instead of the typical black puff coats and snow boots that dominate the scene here in America, Scandinavian women embrace cheerful pops of colour, funny textures and lots of layers. Not to mention playful accessories that add a fun twist to your boring winter look. Their fresh take on cold weather fashion is truly thrilled to put together their winter outfits again. And I think your styling juice will flow too. Below we’ve gathered our favourite Scandi influencers and followed them for stylish inspiration. Plus, we’ve picked seven items that we can’t wait to add to our winter wardrobe.

Cozy oversized scarf

When it comes to outfits for those chilly temperatures, a cozy, oversized statement scarf is a must. You can’t mistake the classic wool numbers for solid colors, but why not try liven up the soft, fuzzy textures of playful colors and interesting patterns? They bring joy to any monotonous winter wardrobe. Try style it by draping around the neck for a comfortable look or putting extra distance and turning it into a cute hood like a Copenhagen girl to keep your head warm.

Vibrant coloured button down

Classic button-down shirts are already essential in many women’s wardrobes. But instead of sticking to traditional white or black styles, Scandi’s trendsetters arrive at bold, bright colour options instead. It’s a fun way to stand out and be a little interested in any outfit. The structured silhouette still gives its timeless tailored vibe, but the unexpected pop of colour is the perfect antidote to neutral coats and jeans (as mentioned above).

Thick sweater

Whether you’re wearing it alone, layering it over a crisp white tee or tie it around the shoulders of your jacket, any winter closet will need a thick sweater. For Scandi’s friends, they’re more than just warmth. The fuzzy textures and oversized shapes add depth and dimensions to the layered drux. (Learn more about these versatile topper styling hacks below.)

Classic trench coat

We usually sport trench coats during rainy days in April, but Scandi Girls wear them all year round. If you want to rock the trench in the winter like they do, the secret is to layer it on top of your warm and cozy favorite, like the sweater mentioned above. This classic topper is a stylish staple of age and balances all the vibrant pieces Nordic women sport.

Winter white jeans

Have you heard of the old saying “You can’t wear white after Labor Day”? Well, Scandinavian women scoff at the stupidity of such seasons. They fully embrace the look of white jeans in winter, and honestly, what we’re planning is a very stylish choice. If you’re still on the fence for ideas, consider testing the water with an off-white shade like the ECRU instead. It gives the same vibe without feeling too summer. Try it – you might love it!

Fun print dress

Nothing increases dopamine levels that would make a colorful print dress slippery. And the node shows that chilly weather shouldn’t stop it. Of course, they don’t suggest going out to bare shoulders and frozen temperatures of shoes. But how about layering one of these hilarious frocks under your favorite thick sweater (do you still see how important they are?!) It’s perfect for staying warm and appearing sunny at the same time That’s the way.

Cool sneakers

See, we love a pair of kicks that are as comfortable as the next girl, but Scandis really has the knack for making them look incredibly cool. Instead of the classic white sneakers that put American Americans in chalk holds, they opt for supple suede material that gives even the most basic outfit an upgrade. Whether you choose pastel lilac shoes, bright blues or green, bold sneakers are an easy way to show off your personality (and your favorite colour).
