Russian SU-57 and US Air Force F-35 stealth aircraft have arrived in India! This is the first time both stealth fighters have been captured in one frame.
The F-35A visited Bangalore for Aero India Airshow 2023. This is the second visit to the Stealth Fighter airshow. For SU-57, it will be his debut in India and the second overall appearance after the Zhuhai Air Show in China.
Russia’s most advanced combat jet, the SU-57, is produced at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Air Plant in the Russian Far East. Moscow provides stealth fighters to the Indian Air Force as China accumulates stealth fighters (J-20), while another enemy, Pakistan, has a fleet of J-35 stealth aircraft provided by its own China. I was able to do that.
This creates a major “stealth gap” for the Indian Air Force.
The timing of the SU-57’s debut at the airshow could juxtapose Putin with the long-awaited visit of the President of India. President Putin was able to officially make a new pitch to Prime Minister Modi for the SU-57 Fighters under the “Make India” initiative.
The SU-57 is a supersonic, twin engine, fifth-generation aircraft designed to counter the US air superiority. Despite its advanced design, the felons were not in line with the success of the F-35. The F-35 boasts excellent stealth, computing and sensor capabilities.

The Sukhoi SU-57 is designed to destroy air, ground and naval targets. The wide range of use of composite materials increases stealth and can reach supersonic cruising speeds.
It is said that there are state-of-the-art onboard radio electronic equipment, including powerful onboard computers. The radar system spreads throughout the body, and its armor is located within the fuselage.
The SU-57 AI system envisions some of the pilot’s capabilities, including preparation for pilots and weapons. The SU-57 is armed with missiles beyond visual range and two short-range missiles for air-to-air combat missions.
The main mid-range missile of the fighter is the active radar homing K-77M (Izdeliye 180). The K-77M, an upgraded version of the R-77 medium-range missile, is a radar guided missile (BVR) that is equipped with an active, electronically scanned array radar seeker, over-view radar guided missile (BVR). Moscow could also add a new R-37m long-range hemp missile to increase the firepower of the aircraft.
Russia is also planning to adopt the S-70 Okhotnik drone along with the SU-57 as a “loyal wingman.” UAC CEO Yury Slyusar previously said the fifth generation SU-57 is a step towards sixth generation aircraft.
Is the F-35 better than the SU-57?
The F-35 is considered to be superior to the SU-57 in terms of stealth capabilities as well as its widespread production and popularity.
In contrast to the limited number of SU-57s, the F-35 is built in large quantities. More than 1,000 F-35s have been built for US Air Force, Navy, Marines and global customers, with various European and Asian countries already acquiring stealth jets.
For many others, including some rich countries in the Middle East, it remains a desire.
The F-35 also stands out in cutting-edge computing, weapon range, mission systems and long-range high-resolution sensors.
The advanced performance of the F-35, often referred to as the “flying computer,” is primarily due to the central computer system that controls all aspects of the stealth jet. This aspect of the F-35 is important, but is usually ignored compared to other visible features.
Former US Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein once described the F-35 as a “computer that just happens to fly” rather than a traditional fighter.
This advanced computing technology enables many of the F-35’s missions and operations, particularly for precise targeting. The software upgrade has significantly improved the performance of air-to-air and underground weapons such as the AIM-120 and AIM-9X through expanded flight paths and guidance technology.
The F-35 is being continuously improved through continuous software upgrades and modernization efforts driven by “open architecture” and interoperable IP protocol standards. This design allows for rapid integration of new technologies without the need for overhauling the jet’s computing infrastructure.
Furthermore, the F-35 stands out as the only 5th century fighter jet in the world capable of carrying nuclear weapons, surpassing other fighters such as the F-22, J-20, and SU-57.
