The Telangana Information Technology (IT) department has encouraged all IT and ITES companies operating in Hyderabad and adjacent areas, taking into account the forecast of very heavy rainfall in the city and surrounding areas, in order to facilitate employee work (WFH) arrangements on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).

Prime Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu, held a video conference with collectors and senior officials on Tuesday (August 12, 202%), and instructions were issued to take steps to ensure employees choose WFH.

Sanjay Kumar, Special Director of the State IT Department, advised businesses to promote WFH arrangements wherever possible and issue internal recommendations to staff regarding safe travel and emergency contact procedures. “The cooperation of all IT industry stakeholders will be solicited during this period to ensure employee safety and uninterrupted service delivery,” according to an advisory issued Tuesday.

The education sector announced half a day on August 13th and 14th for the government and private schools within the restrictions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Enterprises (GHMC).
