Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) has acquired 60% of the Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), a subsidiary of Taiwan, as a groundbreaking movement for the Indian Electronics Manufacturing Division. This strategic acquisition enhances the status of Tata as a major supplier of Apple, and further advances the iPhone production plan in India.
Pegatron Technology India offers electronic equipment manufacturing services (EMS) to customers around the world, including Apple. The financial conditions of the transaction remain unreleased.
The acquisition of Tata Electronics is based on the company’s expansion of the company’s base in electronics supply chains. The company plans to change the Pegatron India brand to reflect new ownership and strategic visions while maintaining a commitment to providing top -level EMS solutions.
The contract is following Tata’s acquisition of the Indian business in March 2024, further enhancing the role of Tata in Indian electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Tata Sands chairman N. Chandracacaran emphasized that the world’s supply chain was changing in favor of India in the New Year’s resignation, calling it the “Golden Age” in the Indian manufacturing industry.
Tata Electronics has launched an ambitious policy in semiconductors and electronics manufacturing. The company has invested 91 billion rupees and is constructing India’s first semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dorera, Gwanse. In addition, the 2700 billion rupee green field facilities in Jageload, Assam, will focus on assembling and testing semiconductors. These projects aim to support major industries such as automobiles, mobile devices, and artificial intelligence.
According to Chandracekaran, Tata Group plans to create 500,000 manufacturing employment in fields such as semiconductors, electric vehicles, and batteries over the next five years.
The acquisition also emphasizes the Tata Group’s efforts to strengthen India as a leader in the world’s manufacturing industry.
