Snowflake and Anthropic have announced key partnerships to embed AI agents directly into their corporate data environment, allowing businesses to analyze huge amounts of information while maintaining strict security controls.
Companies will integrate Anthropic’s Claude 3.5 Sonnet model into Snowflake’s new Cortex agent platform, creating an AI system that allows organizations to analyze both structured database information and unstructured content, such as documents within existing security frameworks. Let it be deployed.
“We believe that AI agents will soon be essential to the enterprise workforce,” said Baris Gultekin, head of AI at Snowflake, in a media roundtable. “They will increase productivity for many teams, including customer support analytics and engineering, and free up employee time to focus on higher value.”

Partnerships address key challenges in enterprise AI adoption. This will safely deploy powerful AI models at scale. Claude runs fully within Snowflake’s security perimeter, eliminating concerns about sending sensitive data to external AI services.
“By running Claude within Snowflake’s security perimeter, customers can build and deploy AI applications while governing data,” said Mike Krieger, Chief Product Officer of Humanity.
The initial results show promise. Snowflake reports 90% accuracy of complex intertext tasks within internal benchmarks, significantly outperforming previous approaches. Siemens Energy has already built an AI chatbot that analyzes over 500,000 pages of internal documents, while Nissan North America has achieved 97% accuracy in analyzing customer sentiment regarding the dealer experience.
How Snowflake Uses AI to Automate Business Data Analytics
Cortical agents coordinate complex data tasks with both structured databases and unstructured content. The system combines two key components: Cortex Analysts, who translate natural language into accurate database queries, and Cortex Search, a hybrid search system in which Snowflake surpasses its competitors at least 11% in standard benchmarks.
“Using such cutting-edge models available to Snowflake customers contributes to ease of experience,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Snowflake products. “I need to answer the questions I need to use which model and how many prompts I need to push to get something to behave the way I want to… it’s a surprise It’s target.”
Snowflake Cortical Agents Promises Smarter, Faster Enterprise AI
Partnerships demonstrate a change in enterprise AI strategies. Rather than treating AI as separate technologies, businesses are now trying to integrate directly into their existing data infrastructure.
“No one is looking for a token vendor to exchange output tokens and input tokens,” Krieger explained. “They are looking for people who help them create AI strategies and do so in a way that aligns with their values, and they trust them to stay on the frontier.”
The platform includes comprehensive monitoring capabilities to maintain existing access control and compliance requirements. This is an important feature as AI regulations evolve.
“A certain degree of regulatory clarity will help,” Kleinerman said during the announcement. “But I think we are all involved in informing us how that regulation is being formed, especially in the lab that understands the next level of detail.”
Why Snowflake’s AI Strategy Focuses on Security and Governance
Partnerships provide technical decision makers with a potential path to deploying AI at scale while maintaining security and governance. Success can depend on careful implementation and clear use cases that provide measurable business value.
For businesses tackling increasing data volume and complexity, the ability to deploy AI safely and effectively can be a critical competitive advantage. The combination of sophisticated AI capabilities and a robust security control platform suggests a future in which intelligent agents become an integral part of business operations.
