Apple Watch is a small but very influential technical gadget that is useful in every kind of field of your life. Maybe you’ve helped you to meet your New Year’s wellness goals or as a high and low adventure fitness tracker. Or maybe you just wanted a good -looking clock with extra smart. Whatever the reason, I bet that you just hurt the surface (not the screen) of what you can do.
Here are some of my favorite everyday hints that save time and trouble.
See how to add a custom watch face and how to expand the old Apple Watch utility in the drawer.
Swipe between the clock face (again)
Until WatchOS 10.0, you can swipe from the left end or right end of the screen to switch the face of an active clock. This is the perfect way to move quickly from an elegant job face to a face that focuses on exercise. Apple has deleted its function. Perhaps because brushing the edge on the screen accidentally switched his face.
Swipe from the end and switch your face.
However, normal methods include more steps (touch, hold the face, swipe, change, tap and check), and it is not so bad for people to change the face of a surprise watch occasionally. I noticed that. Therefore, as of version 10.2, including the current WatchOS 11.2, you can turn on the function. Move to (Settings)> (Clock), turn on the swipe and switch Watch Face.
Cover your heart health with vitals
If you wear an apple watch while you are asleep, you will find a lot of information, not just the way you slept last night. If you don the clock overnight, you will track many health metrics. The new feature of WatchOS 11 collects data to the Vitals app that reports the heart rate, breathing, body temperature (recent model), and sleep period the previous night. The Vitals app can also display data collected in the past seven days. This tap the small calendar icon in the upper left corner.
(If you own a watch model sold before January 29, 2024, you will also see a blood oxygen reading value. In a new watch in the United States, its function is for the battle of intellectual property violation. It will be invalid.
The Vitals app reports the tendency of mental and health collected during sleep.
How is this useful? Software builds a normal baseline for you. If the outer values in the normal range, such as irregular heart and respiratory speed, are confused, the Vitals app will warn them as an unlimited type. It’s not a medical diagnosis, but you can check out and encourage you to have a problem early.
Let the smart stack work
Use a crown or swipe to lift your smart stack.
Smart stack is a place where Apple accesses quick information that may not comply with what is called “complicated” (the face of a clock other than the time itself, such as activity rings and the current external temperature). When displaying the face of the clock, turn the digital crown clockwise or swipe from the bottom of the screen to display a series of tiles that display information such as the weather and the memories of the proposed photos. This is the best place to access the function if you are using a minimal watch face without complications.
Select which live activity is automatically displayed
Smart stack is also a place where live activities are displayed. For example, when ordering a food delivery, the order status is displayed as a tile on the smart stack (and the iPhone lock screen). And because it is a timely activity, the smart stack is the main view instead of the face of the watch.
Live activities such as mobile orders are displayed on the smart stack.
Some people find it too disturbing. To disable it, open the configuration app with a clock, go to Smart Stack> Live Activity, and turn off the automatic release live activity options. If you do not want to confuse your clock experience, you can allow live activities on the same screen.
Apple’s Apple apps that use live activities are listed there when configuring the settings for each app, such as displaying active timers, displaying media apps such as music. For third -party apps, open the clock app on your iPhone, tap your smart stack, and find the settings.
Add your favorite widget to your smart stack and pin it
When the smart stack was first displayed, its usefulness looked like a hit or mistake. WatchOS 11 seems to have improved Apple to determine which widgets are displayed. I think it’s a good job to display information with context instead of it is annoying. However, every time you open the stack, you can pin the widgets displayed.
For example, a 10 -minute timer is used for various things. Instead of opening the timer app (through application list or complexity), one 10 -minute timer has been added to the smart stack. The method is as follows:
Turn the digital crown or swipe from the bottom of the screen to display the smart stack, press the screen and enter it in the editing mode. Tap the tile to add to the stack. In the case of a timer, there is a set timer 10 minutes option. If you want to display or display it low in the stack order, drag it up or below. Tap the check mark button to accept changes.
Add a specific widget to your smart stack.
Widgets are displayed on the stack, but they may be pushed down on other widgets. In that case, you can fix it to the top of the list. Tap the yellow pin button while editing. It moves it, but live activities can still be prioritized.
Use the clock as a flashlight
Perhaps you used the flashlight function of the mobile phone dozens of times, but did you know that Apple Watch would be a flashlight? Instead of a dedicated LED (using a mobile phone as a camera flash), the full screen of the clock becomes the light emitter. It is not as bright as the iPhone and cannot be adjusted the beam width, but if you do not want to disturb the sleeping person, it is completely suitable for moving around in the dark.
To activate a flashlight, press the side button to display the control center and tap the flashlight button. This allows the entire screen to turn white -Turn the digital crown to adjust the brightness. It will even start dying for a few seconds to give you the opportunity to guide light so that you do not fry your eyes.
The Apple Watch can also serve as a hands -free flashlight.
The flashlight also has the other two modes. Swipe to the left, flash the white screen with a normal cadence, or swipe again to make the screen bright red. The flash version is especially useful when walking or running at night, making it easier to see the vehicle.
Press the digital crown to turn off the flashlight and return to the face of the watch.
If you are traveling or ill, pause the exercise ring
Exercise, movement, and closing a standing ring can be a major motivation for more active. But sometimes, your body has other plans. Until WatchOS 11, if you are sick or need to be on a long -distance trip, the stripes that close those rings you have built will be broken.
Now, the clock is more tolerant (and practical) and pause the ring without confusion. Open the activity app and tap the weekly summary button in the upper left corner. Scroll to the bottom (take time to praise the progress) and tap the pause ring button. You can choose to pause for today or the month until today or to set the number of days of the custom.
Give a break as needed and pause the exercise ring.
When you’re ready to return to your activity, move to the same place and tap your resume ring.
Bypass the countdown and start training
Many workouts start with 3 seconds countdown and are ready to be ready. That’s fine, but when I’m usually doing outdoors, my legs are already moving.
Instead of losing these steps, tap the countdown once to bypass and turn right for calorie burning.
How to force apps (and why you want to do)
Don’t forget, Apple Watch is a small computer, and all computers have problems. For example, occasionally, apps may freeze or operate irregularly.
Mac or iPhone is easy to end and restart repeated apps, but Apple Watch is not clear. The method is as follows:
Double press digital crowns to display recent list lists. Close the crown to what you want to tighten. Turn your finger with your finger or drag it with your finger. A button that forcibly quit apps.
You can forcibly quit the app with the Apple Watch.
This is only for the time when the app actually crashed -there is no advantage in quitting the app manually, like the iPhone.
These are part of my favorite Apple Watch tips, but of course there are many more popular smartwatches. Also check the new health features expected in the following model and Lexy Savvides series 10 reviews.
