New Delhi:
Jagmeet Singh, leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) and former ally of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has issued a stern warning to US President-elect Donald Trump about his plans to annex Canada. “I have a message for Donald Trump: Our country (Canada) is not for sale, and we will never be for sale,” Mr.

Singh said Canadians are proud people, proud of their country and ready to “fight like hell to protect it.”
The NDP leader boasted of being a good neighbor and extending aid to the United States amid the Los Angeles fires that have killed at least 24 people so far. “At a time when forest fires are ravaging homes, Canadian firefighters have shown up. That’s who we are. And we show up and support our neighbors.”
Singh has vowed to retaliate if the U.S. imposes tariffs on Canada. “If Donald Trump thinks, if he thinks he can sell us a fight, he’s going to have to pay a price. If Donald Trump imposes tariffs on us, “I think anyone running for prime minister should do the same.” ”
President Trump has been vocal about his plans to rule Canada and make it the 51st U.S. state. “Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st state,” Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social in early December.
At Christmas, he cited the benefits of Canada becoming part of the United States. “Their taxes will be reduced by more than 60 percent, the size of their business will instantly double, and they will have the same military protection as any country in the world.”
Earlier this month, following the resignation of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Trump again floated the idea of acquisitions and mergers, saying, “If Canada merges with the United States, there will be no tariffs, taxes will be significantly lower, and Canada will be completely secure.” It will happen,” he said. What a great country it is, considering the threat of Russian and Chinese ships that constantly surround them!!!”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau quickly fired back at Trump, saying, “There’s no snowballing chance that Canada will become part of the United States.”
He added: “Workers and communities in both countries benefit from being each other’s largest trade and security partner.”
