Global experts will discuss the threats and promises of artificial intelligence (AI) at a gathering in Paris on Thursday (February 6, 2025), ahead of the rapidly moving world leaders of technology.

Thousands are expected to be in an event aimed at finding the commonalities of technology that have disrupt many business sectors within two years.

Paris’ ambitions also extend to robbing citizens of the real-world use of AI, adopting global governance of technology, promoting ethical, accessible and modest options.

Scientists including Facebook owner Meta chief and father of the current surge in technology, Yann Lecun, impacts on areas such as Thursday at the well-known polytechnic engineering school, health and sustainability We were discussing about.

“Science can help you think through this revolution,” and “understand the social impact of AI,” Macron’s AI envoy Anne Bouvello said in a statement that the meeting was held on Thursday in the outskirts of Paris. He spoke to a packed lecture theater on a green campus of polytechnics.

University Chief Tierry Coulomb told scientists that it is “the responsibility to ensure that world leaders have the insights and questions that come out of your world.”

Saturday and Sunday will see discussions on the impact of AI on culture before global technology industry leaders gather on Monday and Tuesday in front of around 100 countries’ heads of state and governments.

Famous attendees include US Vice President JD Vance, China’s Vice Prime Minister Zhang Guokin, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is co-hosting the summit as Macron is now hoping to involve the global South in the technology battle that is primarily deployed between the US and China.

Macron’s office is a leader in the United Arab Emirates, known as the “MBZ” to discuss “common ambitions of both countries regarding AI.” -He said he will host Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

From a business standpoint, X and Tesla chief Elon Musk has yet to confirm attendance. Liang Wenfeng, founder of Chinese startup Deepshek, shocked the world with his modest, high-performance R1 model last week.

American figures such as Sam Altman from Openai and Dario Amodei from Anthropic, as well as Arthur Mensch from French AI developer Mistral, all attend the gathering.

In science, Meta’s Lecun is Demis Hassabis, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry at Google’s Deepmind AI Research Lab, and Demis Ha by Berkeley Machine Learning Researcher Michael Jordan. Adjacent to something like ssabis.

Jordan on Thursday said “hype and hysteria” from Altman and Amody have allegedly brought the world closer to the development of artificial general information (AGI).

Agi said, “It’s going to happen someday, I won’t say it won’t,” Jordan said, but for now “humans are far more clever than machines.”

Three more Nobel winners — computer scientist Jeffrey Hinton, journalist Maria Lessa and economist Joseph Stiglitz — take part in a conference hosted by International Safety and Ethics AI (IASEI), created only last year. I will.

French AI initiatives

France hopes that the conference can strengthen its major European position in AI, and has already drawn out several labs from major AI companies, including Google, Meta and Openai to Paris.

“This summit must be the moment to position Paris as the global capital of AI,” Digital Minister Clara Chappaz told AFP journalists.

A month after the emergence of Deepseek shocked even the heavyweights in Silicon Valley, the US announced a $50 billion AI investment scheme.

The French Ai Envoy Bouverot claimed the recent event, “We have found the field to be very open in terms of global competition.”

Paris is set to announce major investments spanning billions of people, including new data centres on the territory.

The government said Thursday that there are 35 “ready-to-use” sites offering a total of 1,200 hectares (3,000 acres) nationwide.

And Mayor Laurent Marcangueri has announced a chatbot tool similar to ChatGpt for the 5.7 million public sector workers in France.
