Microsoft will also work with the Telangana government and other stakeholders to establish and run the AICOE (AI Center of Excellence).

Microsoft News: Great news for Telangana people, Telangana Prime Minister A Revanth Reddy launched Microsoft’s new campus last week. To celebrate its 25 years of travel in Hyderabad, the company has opened a new campus in Gachibowli with a cutting-edge 1.1 million square feet of lead certified building.
Over 20,000 experts work in Hyderabad as they talk about Microsoft’s presence in India. With the launch of the new building, Microsoft is planning to hire an additional 4,800 employees, according to a report reported by PTI.
Microsoft has announced another landmark initiative
On this occasion, Microsoft also announced another landmark initiative (partner with the government of Telangana) to provide AI training to more than 12,000 people in the state. Under the first program, Advanta(i)GE Telangana, Microsoft has launched the AI Foundation Academy, introducing AI education to 500 public schools that benefit 50,000 students.
Additionally, the AI-Industry Pro program will expand 20,000 industrial experts across Telangana. The third programme, AI-Govern initiative, will further train 50,000 government employees in key areas such as digital productivity, generation AI, and cybersecurity.
Microsoft establishes the AI Center of Excellence
Microsoft will also work with the Telangana government and other stakeholders to establish and run the AICOE (AI Center of Excellence). The COE establishes a cloud-based infrastructure for AI development, including a centralized AI knowledge hub. This repository compiles research, case studies, and best practices that benefit thousands of employees across the state.
To support AI growth, Microsoft has also announced twice the investment in the state’s HyperScale AI data center, making an additional investment of 15,000 rupees. This makes the Hyderabad region one of Microsoft’s largest data hubs.
He said these initiatives are in line with Prime Minister Revanth Reddy’s priorities to make Hyderabad a domestic AI hub.
The MOU, including all initiatives, was signed between the company and the state’s ITE&C division and exchanged in the presence of CM and state IT Minister D Sridhar Babu. This was the direct result of a recent meeting between CM and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in January 2025, agreeing to work closely together in modernizing government IT and cloud infrastructure. They also agreed to quickly track the development and adoption of AI solutions, the release said.
