SANY India showcased locally manufactured construction machinery at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, highlighting its focus on domestic manufacturing. The company displayed machines with components manufactured at its Chakan facility in Pune, including engines, hydraulic systems and track components.
The manufacturer unveiled electric versions of its construction equipment featuring mining dump trucks, forklifts and terminal tractors at the show. These additions are in line with the industry’s shift towards reducing heavy equipment emissions.
Sanjay Saxena, COO, Sales, Marketing and Customer Support, SANY Heavy Industry India, spoke at the event and highlighted the company’s participation in the domestic manufacturing initiative. He stressed that the focus is on reducing dependence on imports through local production.
SANY India entered the Indian market in 2009 and has been expanding its manufacturing capacity in the country. Established in 2014, the company’s Chakan plant serves as its main manufacturing hub in India. The facility produces construction equipment such as excavators, cranes and concrete machines.
The second edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo focuses on showcasing India’s capabilities in the mobility and manufacturing space. The event’s theme ‘Viksit Bharat ke Vikasrath’ (vehicle of progress for developed India) reflects the government’s drive towards manufacturing self-reliance.
India’s construction equipment sector is witnessing steady growth due to increased infrastructure development projects and government construction spending. Industry analysts expect the sector to maintain its growth trajectory, supported by ongoing infrastructure initiatives and urbanization projects.
SANY’s domestic manufacturing expansion comes as India aims to reduce its dependence on imported heavy machinery and establish itself as a manufacturing hub. The company will continue to operate a pavilion at the expo for the duration of the event.
