Russian President Putin says many countries are interested in BRICS

The BRICS countries are implementing new initiatives to transform the structure of the world economy in order to ensure economic growth, contribute to human progress in the long run and strengthen the group countries’ position as leaders in global economic progress. The Russian leader also noted that the BRICS summit in Kazan attracted a significant number of world leaders. According to him, the capital of Tatarstan has developed significantly in recent years and is now one of the best cities in Europe.

In addition, President Putin answered a question from a reporter from Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, regarding the outlook for relations between Russia and China. He stressed that the two countries are based on mutual trust, which has reached an unprecedented high level over the past decade.

Speaking about economic cooperation, the Russian president noted that, according to various estimates, the amount of trade between the two countries is in the range of $220 billion to $240 billion. Additionally, each state is implementing more than 600 joint investment projects, TV BRICS reported.

“Finally, in my opinion, a very important element is the humanitarian part. We always hold cross-years. Years of culture, years of youth exchanges. All this is very important to people. “They are the basis of people’s development, economic ties and political exchanges,” Putin added.

Prensa Latina journalist Hansel Pavel Oro Oro said in a conversation with an international media network that “Cuba, Venezuela and the rest of the world have always had good and friendly relations with Russia, so “There are representatives from Latin America here,” he said.

The program “Vladimir Putin’s achievements this year” was held in a direct format, combined with a press conference. The head of state answered questions from the public and representatives of the Russian and international media on topics ranging from domestic policy and social issues to international relations and economic activities abroad. According to TV BRICS, this direct line received around 2.5 million appeals and 76 questions during the event.
