TEHRAN – Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, said the recent ceasefire between Hamas and Israel was a significant blow to the occupation regime.

Speaking on Sunday, Qaani said the ceasefire, which came into effect that day, marked the “biggest defeat” in Israel’s history and highlighted the regime’s failure to achieve any of its objectives despite its long-term aggression in Gaza. .

“The bloodthirsty, child-killing butchers of the Zionist regime have humiliated themselves today by accepting a ceasefire after 15 months of relentless crimes against the oppressed peoples of Palestine, Lebanon and the region,” Qaani said. It has been given,” he declared. He stressed that the terms of the agreement reflect proposals previously rejected by Israel and highlight that the regime will not gain any advantage during the conflict.

Israel launched its assault on Gaza on October 7, 2023, following a major operation by the Hamas-led resistance group in retaliation for Israel’s escalating violence against Palestinians. However, despite killing approximately 47,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, Israel has failed to achieve its stated goals, including the release of prisoners and the annihilation of Hamas.

Qaani said the ceasefire marked a pivotal moment in exposing what he called the Zionist regime’s “miserable life.” “The terms proposed by the Palestinian resistance in previous negotiations were ultimately accepted by Israel, which was a humiliation for Israel and represented the biggest defeat they have faced,” he said. .

The ceasefire agreement reached last Wednesday includes long-standing demands from Hamas and represents a significant diplomatic victory for the Palestinian resistance. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has also increased pressure on Israeli leaders, issuing arrest warrants in November for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former army minister Yoav Galant on suspicion of crimes against humanity and war crimes.

In addition to Israel’s diplomatic setback, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) previously urged the regime to take immediate steps to stop “plausible genocide” in the Gaza Strip, following legal action initiated by South Africa. commanded.

IRGC chief highlights advances in missile precision technology

Also at the ceremony, the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami, announced significant advances in Iran’s missile technology, including the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve accuracy and minimize civilian casualties. emphasized.

Mr. Salami highlighted Iran’s efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities while adhering to ethical guidelines.

Salami revealed that the Revolutionary Guards have achieved precision targeting capabilities powered by AI, allowing them to carry out operations against hostile targets without harming civilians. He cited the 2018 missile operation against Takfir terrorist bases in Syria as an example, noting that Seyed Ali Khamenei had instructed the Revolutionary Guards to avoid harming civilians during the mission.

The Revolutionary Guards commander also condemned the recent cyber terrorist attacks by the Zionist regime in Lebanon. On September 18, 2024, a coordinated cyber attack exploded communication equipment, including pagers, in multiple locations, injuring more than 2,000 people and killing many others. Among the victims was Mojtaba Amani, Iran’s ambassador to Beirut.

Salami emphasized the resilience of Iranian medical staff, who played a key role in treating injured Hezbollah troops during the crisis. He praised their dedication, drawing parallels with their heroic efforts during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
