New Delhi: BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla has spoken out about chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit following India’s disastrous 3-1 defeat against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. – dismissed media reports that suggested there was an internal rift between Sharma.
Speaking on the sidelines of the first Kho Kho World Cup in New Delhi, Shukla flatly refuted this claim.

“That is a completely wrong statement. There is no rift between the coach and the selection committee chairman. There is no rift between the coach and the captain,” Shukla asserted, putting an end to the swirling speculations.

Responding to concerns over the recent poor form of key players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Shukla offered a balanced perspective. “When you play sports, you sometimes do well and sometimes you don’t. These are stages of life. Rohit missed the Sydney Test when he felt he was not feeling well,” he said.
Shukla also confirmed that the squad for the next ICC Champions Trophy will be finalized by January 18 or 19, adding, “On January 18 or 19, the selection committee and secretary will sit “We will decide the members for the trophy.”
Team India’s next big assignment is the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9. It will be held in Pakistan and the UAE under a hybrid model, with India playing all its matches in the UAE.
The high-profile event will feature eight teams and 15 matches, with India and Pakistan going head-to-head in Dubai on February 23. Team India’s campaign will begin on February 20th against Bangladesh and the final league match will be against New Zealand on March 2nd.
Group A will consist of defending champions and hosts Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while Group B will include Australia, Afghanistan, England and South Africa.
