What you need to know

A cryptic post from the official Snapdragon account on X (formerly Twitter) all but confirms that Qualcomm will be included in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in all regions. This post looks like this: This confirms previous leaks and rumors that suggested the Galaxy S25 lineup will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

Samsung’s flagship products often use a combination of the company’s own Exynos chips and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. These leaks and rumors strongly point out that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be Snapdragon-only.

With just a few weeks left until the Galaxy S25 is officially unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked, the playful banter between Samsung and Qualcomm on social media only serves to confirm that the two companies are collaborating on the next-generation smartphone. Very close.

Samsung announced that it will announce the Galaxy S25 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event to be held on January 22nd in a post on X (formerly Twitter). This post was published on Monday, January 6th, but the interesting part was published a day later. The Snapdragon brand’s official account quoted Samsung’s post from January 7th with a cryptic message: “See you again.”

While not a confirmation in the traditional sense, this post from Qualcomm suggests that Snapdragon will be the focus of the Galaxy S25 series. Currently, there is only one mobile chipset from Qualcomm that meets this requirement, and that is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. Geekbench 6 scores suggest that Samsung may be using an overclocked “Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy” chipset for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and possibly the rest of the lineup.

Putting all this together, previous reports about Samsung’s poor Exynos yields, Geekbench 6 scores, and this cryptic post from Qualcomm all confirm that the Galaxy S25 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. It seems so.

If existing Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphones like the OnePlus 13 and Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro are any indication, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series should be performance champions, especially when overclocked. Reserve your smartphone for free now. If you end up buying a Galaxy S25 smartphone when pre-orders start, you don’t have to commit to huge savings.
