Professor Amin Chohan of Lahore was lucky to receive a treasured relic from his old home in India, bringing back a piece of the past lost during the 1947 Civil War.

The door, which symbolizes home and memories, made an incredible journey from Batala to Mumbai, then Dubai, Karachi and finally Lahore, where it ended up with Professor Amin Chohan. His friend from India, Palwinder Singh, gifted him with this door, rich in memories and history, as a symbol of their eternal friendship that transcends borders and scars of division.

Singh gifted Chohan the door of his father’s house in Gorman Pind, Batala. The emotional exchange was captured on video and quickly gained popularity on social media.

When Professor Chohan opened the door, his eyes filled with tears. The weathered trees were filled with memories and stories from their journey from Batala to Mumbai, Dubai, Karachi and finally Professor Chohan’s home, Lahore. It transcended the scars left by division and served as a moving symbol of the enduring connections that connect people across borders.

This video posted by Instagram user Saad Zahid is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Many people were touched by the video and expressed their joy at witnessing such a beautiful moment.

“What a touching moment for him! The human spirit triumphs above all!” a user commented. Another wrote: “The best of humanity, friendship and love.” A third user wrote: “Great gesture.”
