Smartphone maker Poco has announced that it will collaborate with American chipmaker Qualcomm and India’s largest carrier Reliance Jio to launch the Poco C75 5G, which the company calls “India’s most affordable 5G phone.” The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen2 5G chipset with clock speed of up to 2 GHz.

Affordable 5G for everyone

This chipset delivers Gigabit 5G, delivering download speeds of up to 1Gbps, while increasing modem power efficiency by up to 37%. It is claimed to deliver up to 7x higher download throughput and up to 40% lower latency compared to LTE.

“With the launch of Poco C75 5G, we are the first to revolutionize the 5G space,” said Himanshu Tandon, Head, Poco India.

“Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 4s Gen2 5G chipset at the Snapdragon for India event in July 2024. Over 600 million users still use 4G, 3G, or 2G networks, primarily feature phones. One of the big bottlenecks in the transition to 5G is that this Snapdragon 4S Gen2 chipset is not suitable for 5G at this price point. All,” says Saurabh. Mr. Arora, Head of Business, Qualcomm India.

“This is the only chipset in this price range built on the 4nm process node, offering better power efficiency,” Arora added.

Masu. 4G LTE TDD (B40/B41), and 5G SA (n1/n3/n5/n8/n28/n40/n78).
