WWE manager Paul Heyman had kind words for the wrestling promotion’s Undisputed champion Cody Rhodes. Heyman, who has been the manager of successful Superstars in multiple storylines in WWE history, recently spoke with former United States Champion Logan Paul on a YouTube podcast episode and gave a big shoutout to “The American Nightmare.” I highly praised it.
“Cody Rhodes is the champion. If there’s anyone out there right now, he’s a commercial promoter. He sells tickets, he sells T-shirts, he sells weight belts, he sells autographed replica titles. He sells belts. He’s promoting commerce,” Heyman said on Impulsive.
Mr. Heyman jokingly added that the company requested Rose’s presence in Detroit to fill the next show.
“Cody, Detroit needs you. 98 percent. We really want to sell out,” he said.
Heyman later described Rhodes as a “workhorse” on his podcast. The WWE manager claimed that the Undisputed Champion was very keen to promote business.
“It’s a mainstay. Why? And he does it even on his days off. His commitment to promoting the product goes along with it,” he said. “The key is to discover the greatness in people and help them understand themselves and understand how to bring it out. That’s what directors and producers and wise men do.” Heyman added.
Over the past three years, Rose has emerged as one of the major faces of WWE. American Nightmare previously served as executive vice president and wrestler for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) before returning to WWE in 2022.
It was reported that failed contract negotiations with AEW led to Rose returning to his former agency. Within a year, Rose made history by winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. He headlined WrestleMania 39, facing Roman Reigns in the main event. After failing to win the Undisputed title that year, Rose won two consecutive matches at the 2024 Royal Rumble to earn another shot at the title. He went on to make history at WrestleMania 40, defeating Reigns in his second attempt.
Rose is currently involved in multiple storylines for WWE. He has an ongoing feud with his wrestling co-star Kevin Owens, while also being deeply involved in a heated argument with Solo Chicore’s Bloodline. Rose is scheduled to face Owens at WWE Royal Rumble 2025 to defend the Undisputed Championship.
