Following her historic Paris Olympic victory, Julian Alfred has received honor and acclaim from fans and sports staff. Sprinter was recently honored at the National Independence Baton Relay in St. Lucia.
At the 2024 Paris match, the St. Lucian star won the country’s first Olympic medal by dominating the 100m event. She recorded a spectacular 10.72 seconds, earning gold and registering a national record. She achieved this feat by beating fan favorite Sha’carri Richardson and another American Melissa Jefferson who posted 10.87 and 10.92 seconds respectively.
At the recent National Independence Baton Relay in his hometown (Casries Central), which began in Babonneau on January 29th and concluded on February 18th, Alfred received the honor when he carried the baton on February 15th. I did.
The Olympic medalists got a glimpse into the event and wrote heartfelt notes.
“Love my house,” Alfred added St. Lucian’s flag and heart emoji (via her Instagram story).

She further shared a video of her nephew leading the parade, writing:
“I’m very proud of my nephew.”

Earlier this month, Julian Alfred made waves at the 2025 New Balance Grand Prix after dominating the 300m event by publishing a national record of 36.16 seconds. She defeated Dina Asher Smith and Emma Montoya, who recorded 36.87 and 38.37 seconds respectively.
After the victory, she revealed plans for the 2025 indoor season.
“It was something, but honestly, my coach and I work really hard,” she said (via the _RealTalkWithtee’s Instagram account). “We’re also working on our strength and endurance. So most of the inside and outside will be 300, 400. But we’re just following what he planned for me. I hope. I’ll transfer it and work with my coach to get it done.”
Julian Alfred also won a silver medal in the 200m at the Parisio Games after finishing behind Gabby Thomas of the US, who posted 21.83 seconds.
The new national record set for February 2nd at the New Balance Grand Prix marked this year’s Olympian season opener race.
