Balochistan (Pakistan), January 19 (ANI): As many as five terrorists were killed by Pakistani security forces while trying to infiltrate Pakistan’s Balochistan province from Afghanistan’s Zhob district, Dawn newspaper reports Pak army media This was reported as a departmental matter.

According to an ISPR report, a group of terrorists was spotted trying to cross the Afghan border into the Sambaza district of Zhorb in the early hours of Sunday morning. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces engaged the group and thwarted the infiltration attempt.

“As a result, five Khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR statement said, using the term “Khuwarij” to refer to members of the banned Pakistan Tehreek Taliban (TTP). The encounter highlighted the persistent threat posed by terrorist groups attempting to infiltrate from Afghan soil.

Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated following a series of border clashes. Islamabad has consistently called on Kabul to take action against the TTP, which is allegedly using Afghan territory to attack Pakistan.

However, Afghanistan’s interim government denies these allegations. According to the Dawn report, the ongoing situation along the border shows that despite diplomatic efforts, skirmishes and violence are frequent and the porous border between the two countries is difficult to manage. It’s highlighted.

The TTP, which broke a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan in 2022, has escalated attacks on security forces and law enforcement agencies in recent months. ISPR reiterated that Pakistan has persistently urged the Afghan government to take responsibility for securing its borders and preventing the use of Afghan soil by terrorists targeting Pakistan.

“The Afghan Interim Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny Mr. Khwari the use of Afghan soil to perpetuate acts of terrorism against Pakistan,” ISPR said.

The military remains steadfast in its determination to secure Pakistan’s borders and counter terrorism within the country. According to a Dawn report, Pakistan’s armed forces are continuing operations against terrorist groups attempting to cross the border.

Last month, in a similar operation, security forces killed four terrorists who tried to infiltrate Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtankhwa province. (Ani)
