India won the recently concluded South Asian Tennis Ball Cricket Championship in Nepal. Teams from Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and others were vying for top honors at this mega event. In the end, India defeated Bangladesh in the all-important summit and won the coveted title.
Preetam Pradhan, a tennis ball cricketer from Odisha, was part of the Indian team that brought glory to the country with its victory. Pritam is in great form as part of the victorious Indian team. When he returned home, he received a great welcome from the people of Laikia.
On reaching the village, Pritam expressed his happiness to be a part of the champion Indian team.

“It was a big moment for me. I am really proud to be part of the Indian team that won the South Asian Tennis Ball Cricket Championship. Many cricketers cherish the dream of playing for the Indian team . Even though I belong to a remote place called Raikia in Kandhamal district, I am really lucky and blessed to be a part of the national team,” Pritam said.
“I was able to get this far because of the blessings of God and the wishes of my coaches. I’m really grateful to my coaches and my parents. I worked hard on my game. It’s huge. I’m really happy that I was able to achieve results,” he added.
Pritam’s parents also expressed happiness over their son’s success.
“We are very proud of our son’s achievements. He had a passion for cricket since childhood and we are happy that he was able to pursue his passion and help the Indian team become champions. I am happy,” said Pritam’s mother.
