From the much-talked-about Producer Pack to the much-talked-about KD 17 “Ant Pearl,” Kevin Durant’s latest Nike signature shoes are as relevant as they are performance. For All-Star Weekend, which KD will no doubt be a part of, Nike has prepared a form-hugging KD 17 with the upper draped in a variety of colors that reflect the world’s currencies.
Inspired by Durant’s cool, laid-back nickname, the “Easy Money” KD 17 features a rainbow-like upper gradient that includes shades of purple, pink, green, blue, and more. These colorful hues are commonly seen on banknotes used around the world, but the Swoosh design team created a mock currency featuring his jersey number 35 and his bust in the center.
A similar approach was utilized for last year’s KD 16 “All-Star,” which also employed an unobstructed explosion of color while still pouring money into it.
Nike’s official release calendar currently has these KD 17s marked for release on January 16th, but considering their participation in the trade show in mid-February, these KD 17s could be released next month. Very sensitive.
