Nicolas Galitzine appointed as Emporio Armani’s new fragrance ambassador

PARIS – British actor Nicholas Galitzine has been appointed Emporio Armani’s new global fragrance ambassador.

“Nicolas is an incredibly versatile actor,” Giorgio Armani said in a statement. “What impresses me most about him is his deep, intense and captivating gaze. I consider him the perfect person to embody the energy and strength of this fragrance. .”

Most recently, Galitzine and Anne Hathaway starred in Prime Video’s “The Idea of You.” Its trailer became the most-watched original streaming movie, and the film became Amazon MGM Studios’ No. 1 romantic comedy debut in history. According to Armani Beauty, it drew approximately 50 million viewers in its first two weeks.

This spring, Galitzine co-starred with Julianne Moore in Sky’s original series Mary & George. He was selected as one of Variety Magazine’s “10 Actors to Watch” in 2023.

Galitzine will be featured in Emporio Armani’s Stronger With You Parfum campaign, which launches this month. This scent is part of a franchise launched in 2017 by Armani Beauty, which is licensed to L’Oréal.

For him, signing on to the project was a no-brainer. “I have a great affinity for this brand,” said Galitzin, who said the brand exudes class and elegance. “So I just wanted to be in on the act.”

He is also a fan of creators working on new campaigns. Jonathan Alric was the director. “I’m a huge fan of his work on ‘The Blaze,'” Galitzine said.

Stylist Georgia Pendlebury and photographer Harley Weir also attended.

Fragrance was the source of Galitzine’s formation.

“Especially when I was a teenager trying to find that scent and sense of identity,” he said.

Galitzine is drawn to what he describes as warm, fiery, leathery scents. “I like it slightly sweet, but not an overwhelming saccharine scent,” he said.

The actor described the making of the campaign as “a wonderfully strange experience.”

He hopped on a plane to Bulgaria, where he entered a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Inside, he continued, “It was set up in what I could only describe as a kind of Berlin-style club, which was strange to me, because I probably haven’t been to a club in years at this point.” . Galitzine. “The production design, including lighting, music, and styling, was amazing.

“This was a truly unique experience, because my main task in this campaign was to move and dance with the sense of freedom given by the staff around me and the nightclub feel we have created. “Because it was,” he explained. “I never profess to be a dancer, but it was very freeing.”

The music they danced to for about 12 hours was “Born Slippy.” “And to be honest, I never got tired of it,” Galitzine said. “I’ve probably never had so much fun filming.”

Even now, he continues to train to that song. “It really left a big impression on me,” he said. And there’s definitely a lot of play going on these days.

As for his next project, Galitzine is currently in pre-production for the role of He-Man in Amazon MGM and Mattel’s Masters of the Universe directed by Travis Knight.

“Three hours in the gym and two hours doing stunts every day,” he said. “It involves a group of humans trying to loosen the knots on my emaciated body, and there’s also a lot of costume fitting and wire work.

“This was probably the most immersive period of my preparation so far,” Galitzin said. The hard part, both figuratively and literally, began in October.

“The progress I’m already feeling in my body and my abilities is so euphoric,” he said. “I completely understand now why people get hooked on the gym. Competing with yourself and pushing yourself is so addicting. Overall it was a really great lesson for me.”

Galitzine also learned that many of her favorite actors use scent to prepare for their roles.

“That might actually be something I try in future work,” he said, explaining that scent can root something in a character. “Maybe you could use it on He-Man. I think he smells like sandalwood or something.”

Galitzine’s other upcoming films include “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie” and a comedy adaptation of “100 Nights of Hero.”

“I had a lot of fun playing George in ‘Mary and George,’ as he grows from a frail boy to a Machiavellian Renaissance man,” he said. “I think it’s really, really fun to lean into that Machiavellian, Ripley-type character that plays with darkness.”

Galitzine respects many directors. “I had the great pleasure of meeting Denis Villeneuve by chance the other day. He has been like an absolute hero to me for a long time,” he said.

Galitzine recently dated Gus Van Sant and admires the likes of Andrea Arnold and Halina Reign.

“I’m very excited,” Galitzin said. “There are more agencies in my career now than there were a few years ago, so I publish a list of people I would love to work with and learn from.”
