Black Monday in the NFL is the day after the final game of the regular season and is typically the day on which layoffs occur. The New England Patriots didn’t wait and waived Jarrod Mayo on Sunday. There were still a few layoffs on Black Monday in 2025 (Doug Pederson of the Jacksonville Jaguars and a number of coordinators around the league), but the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints all had head coaches early in the season. They have fired their coach and have already done their homework.
As a result, Black Monday has become a day when we are flooded with interview requests. It was not just a few, but a massive flood that threatened to drown anyone who tried to keep up.
But Yahoo Sports is here for you. Below is a list of which teams have requested interviews with which coaches and coordinators, and when they have been told those interviews will occur. The list will be updated as new information becomes available.
Who will each team interview?
The Jets reportedly plan to interview 14 people for the head coaching position, including currently employed coordinators/coaches and former head coaches who are no longer actively coaching with an NFL team. Including several names.

Vance Joseph, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator
Bobby Slowik, Houston Texans offensive coordinator
Joe Brady, Bills offensive coordinator
Jeff Ulbrich, Jets interim head coach
Darren Rizzi, Saints Interim Head Coach
The Bears will reportedly interview 11 people for the job Matt Eberflus was fired midway through the 2024 season.

When will the team interview candidates?
While some interview dates have been reported, other teams have yet to allow candidates to even interview for other jobs. Candidates who impress the various teams may also be offered a second and possibly third interview.
