Brazilian forward Neymar says it would be an interesting prospect to reunite with former Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami, and could potentially move to the United States when his contract with Al Hilal ends Not excluded.

Once one of the most feared forwards in football, Neymar formed a deadly partnership with Messi and Suarez before joining Paris Saint-Germain for a record-breaking €222 million in 2017. He led Barcelona to a historic treble before moving to Spain.

“Obviously it would be incredible to play with Messi and Suarez again. They are my friends and we still talk to each other,” Neymar told CNN.

“It would be interesting to bring back this trio. I’m happy in Al Hilal, I’m happy in Saudi Arabia, but you never know. Football is full of surprises,” he added.

Neymar has only played seven games for Al Hilal since arriving from PSG in 2023 for a reported €90 million fee, with the Brazilian facing an extended spell on the sidelines due to injury. His contract ends in June.

He spent six seasons with PSG, scoring 118 goals, but despite having great success on the domestic front, he again missed out on winning the Champions League with the French club, and then moved to the Saudi Professional League.

“When the news came out that I was leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the transfer window was closed in the United States, so there was no option (to move to Miami in 2023). They offered me ( The project (in Saudi Arabia) was very good not only for me but also for my family, so going to Saudi Arabia was the best option,” Neymar added.

Neymar is Brazil’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals, and the 32-year-old says he intends to have one last chance at World Cup glory in 2026.

There are six rounds remaining in the South American qualifying round, in which the top six players automatically qualify, and Brazil is in fifth place in the standings.

“I’ll try, I want to be there. I’ll do my best to be part of the national team,” Neymar said. Neymar has not played since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee during qualifying in October 2023.

“I know this is my last World Cup, my last shot, my last chance. I will do my best to participate,” he concluded.
