Louis Vuitton is at the pinnacle of a luxurious ladder recognized worldwide for its high quality leather products and accessories decorated with the iconic LV monogram. The Maison’s history dates back to 1854, but until 2002, the release of Tambour did not make the watches happen in the LV portfolio. After 20 years of faithful service, Tambour bids for Adieu with a special anniversary edition. However, after Jean-Arnault was appointed director of Louis Vuitton’s watch division, Tambourt was deeply rethinked to become a player in the competitive luxury sports watch sector. Currently, the core collection, the 40mm time-only Tambour retains many of the original features, but shows an incredible level of refinement and craftsmanship. The latest version of Louis Vuitton Tambourg ceramic is a novel blend of rose gold and high-tech brown ceramic, resulting in a sophisticated, sophisticated, sensual watch.
The original Tambour retains a specific feature – drum-shaped case, 12 lv letters on the bezel, LV monograms with crown numbers and Arabic numerals – but the new Tambour is stylish with a slim profile of 8.6mm An elegant sports watch. Integrated bracelet. First introduced in steel and gold cases, the winning combination of the new Louis Vuitton Tambourg ceramic rose gold and brown elements required a complete redesign of the case and bracelet.
Many luxury brands are associated with core colors. Louis Vuitton is brown. The colour is inspired by the Damier canvas from the brand’s famous steamer trunk. The combination of brown ceramic and rose gold elements also evokes the colour of LV’s 1896 monogram canvas, the cornerstone of the brand’s identity.
Getting this bespoke color with high-tech ceramic has definitely been a challenge, but its lightweight yet resilient properties make the watch extremely enjoyable to wear. According to the brand, 90 hours were employed to create and finish ceramic components, many of which were completed by hand.
A novel feature of this Tambour ceramic is its internal rose gold container hidden from view by a brown high-tech ceramic cover. With a slim height of 8.3mm, the 40mm case is covered in a ceramic shield and finished in the same way as other golden tambourgs. A circular brushed finish in the central case, Louis Vuitton’s 12 letter Louis Vuitton sandblast bezel is a sophisticated relief and LV signature engraved on the crown. The depth rating of the Tambour ceramic is here at 50m (100m versus 100m for the steel model), a slight disappointment with new materials and construction. There are no traces of rose gold on the front of the watch, but the caseback reveals part of the rose gold container.

The integrated bracelet has also been completely redesigned. Relying on a clear rose gold backbone with screws to secure brown ceramic links, the slink flexible bracelet is perfectly adapted to the wrist. Brown ceramic is the main material on the outside, but a polished rose gold bar appears between all ceramic links, creating an elegant two-tone look. Each ceramic link is rounded in a curved profile and hand-adored with a brushed finish and polished bevel. Because there are no visible pins in the bracelet profile, the elegant, tapered bracelet is secured to the wrist with a triple folding rose gold clasp.
Step brown dial finishing – vertical brush center, sandblasting winding, snail small second counter, refined index and hand – echoes the case finishing. Again, the iconic brown and gold colours of LV’s monogram are highlighted by brown galvanic and lacquer-shaped dials with rose gold indicators, numbers and hands. The gold Arabian numbers and hour and minute hands are filled with super luminova, creating a blue glow in the darkness.
Protected by a gold container, visible through the sapphire case back is the LFT023 automatic three hand movement. This is the same as seen in steel and gold Tambour models. It is also used as a base for the Escale collection. The move was designed by Louis Vuitton’s La Fabrice du Thames and later produced in collaboration with Le Cercul des Hologgers. The barrel, equipped with a 22k rose gold micro rotor, guarantees a 50-hour power reserve for this 4Hz-stimulating movement. This is a officially certified chronometer (by the Geneva Chronometric Observatory under the auspices of the Timelab Foundation) rated with accuracy of -4 and +6 seconds/day. The bridge is microsandblasted with polished edges and chamfers, but the main plate has circular particles. The barrel is opened in the form of an LV monogram flower, and the micro-rotor is carved with a stylized LV Tapisserie.
