Naomi Osaka had fans on the edge of their seats as she defeated Hayley Baptiste after a set down to advance to the ASB Classic semi-finals.
A week ago, Osaka posted an image of her outfit on Instagram, just before her first campaign of the season. She was seen wearing a white jacket paired with a trendy T-shirt and a black skirt.
After facing injuries and early setbacks in 2024, the start of this new season seems to have given the Japanese new hope. After her win over Haley Baptiste, Osaka spoke to the media and reflected on her match:
“I think what I focused on was having a lot of belief and confidence in myself,” she said after defeating American Haley Baptiste in the quarterfinals.
“I think I put in a lot of effort last year and even if it didn’t show in the results, I think I’m just going to keep working as hard as I can and see where it gets me. ” Osaka added.
It is just a matter of two more wins for Naomi Osaka to end her title slump that has continued since 2021.
