Last year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made the headline after receiving more than US$30 million in salary bumps for the fiscal year ended June 2024. His salary, security issues that sparked US government warning bells.

Satya, 57, took over the Microsoft throne from a billionaire Steve Ballmer 2014. He was recognized as guiding the company from a failed mobile strategy to focus on cloud computing and AI. Despite being one of the most famous tech bosses in history, Satya prefers to keep her private life out of the spotlight.

However, Satya and his wife Anupama were open about raising their son Zain, born of severe disabilities. After Zain’s death in 2022, they shared what his son’s life taught them and how they navigated painful loss.

It has been widely reported that Anupama’s father was an executive of the Indian Management Services (IAS). IAS officers are respected and highly paid civil servants working with the Indian government at various levels, including local, state and citizens. Anupama’s father worked under former Indian Prime Minister PV Narasinha Rao.

According to Financial Express, Anupama holds a degree in architecture from Manipal University, India. Satya’s father was also an IAS officer, and the two were contemporaries. As a result of their father’s connection, Anupama and Satya met at university and got married in 1992.
