Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella meets Narendra Modi: Thank you Prime Minister...

Microsoft will invest $3 billion in India to develop India’s cloud computing and artificial intelligence sector, CEO Satya Nadella announced on Tuesday. The company also plans to train 10 million Indians in AI skills by 2030. Nadella met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier this week. This investment is aimed at expanding India’s capabilities in these key technology areas.
The meeting between Nadella and Prime Minister Modi took place a day before Microsoft’s “Microsoft AI Tour” event. The Microsoft CEO thanked Mr. Modi for his dedication to India’s development as a leader in artificial intelligence.

“Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for your leadership,” Nadella said in a LinkedIn post. The CEO also shared a post about X and Threads.

“We are excited to collaborate on our continued expansion in India, further strengthening our commitment to making India AI-first and ensuring that all Indians benefit from this AI platform transformation.” “We are doing so,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi on meeting with Satya Nadella: “I’m really happy…”:

Prime Minister Modi reacted to Nadella’s post on X and said he was happy to learn about technology and innovation in the field of AI.
“It was such a pleasure to meet you, @satyanadella! Great to learn about Microsoft’s ambitious expansion and investment plans in India,” PM Modi said.
“It was also great to discuss different aspects of technology, innovation and AI at the conference,” he added.

What is a Microsoft AI Tour event?

Microsoft embarks on a global AI tour starting September 24, 2024. This free, in-person event offers a comprehensive AI experience designed for business leaders and technologists. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Microsoft executives at select locations on the tour, including CEO Satya Nadella and Chief Commercial Officer Judson Althoff.
According to the company, the Microsoft AI Tour aims to demystify AI, demonstrate its transformative potential, and empower individuals and organizations to harness its power for positive impact.
Participants will have the opportunity to participate in:

Thought leadership sessions to gain insight into the latest AI trends and advances. Skill-building sessions to develop practical AI skills applicable to a variety of industries. Hands-on workshops led by Microsoft experts and partners. Networking opportunities to connect with peers and industry leaders. Partner showcase for customers to learn from real-world AI implementations.

Microsoft to expand Azure capacity
This investment will also support the growing demand for cloud services and AI infrastructure. Nadella also highlighted that the AI ecosystem is growing in India, with over 30,500 AI projects currently under development.
“We’re really excited to announce an additional $3 billion to expand Azure capacity, the largest expansion we’ve ever done in India,” Nadella said in his keynote.
“There are 17 million developers using Github in India, which will be the largest by 2028,” he added.
