Congress on Thursday (December 26, 2024) announced suspension of all official party programs, including National Day celebrations, for the next seven days as a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away at AIIMS in New Delhi did. Delhi.

Singh, the architect of India’s economic reforms, died at the age of 92 on Thursday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.

Congress general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala said as a mark of respect to Dr Manmohan Singh, the Congress had scheduled a ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Sanvidhan’ event in Belgaum, Karnataka on Friday. He said the gathering had been cancelled.

Congress body general secretary KC Venugopal announced that all official programs of the Indian National Congress, including its National Day celebrations, will be suspended for the next seven days as a mark of respect to the late former prime minister.

“This includes all agitation and advocacy programs. Party programs will resume on January 3, 2025. Party flags will be flown at half-mast during this period of mourning,” Venugopal said at X. spoke.

Singh, a Nationalist Congress leader, died at the end of a Congress Working Committee meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka, which was attended by all party leaders.
