Apple iOS 18.3 has a lot of new features, and the next release will include other features. Apple Intelligence news notifications overview
As reported a few days ago, Apple is having issues with some notification summaries generated by Apple Intelligence. Click here for more information. Essentially, some of the summaries were wrong, and the news organizations whose breaking news was summed up incorrectly were not happy.
As a result, in iOS 18.3, Apple is suspending two specific types of summaries. “Notification summaries for the News & Entertainment category will be temporarily unavailable. We are currently working on improvements and will make them available in a future software update.”
Additionally, the Notifications Overview section of the Settings app will clearly indicate that this is a beta feature (meaning mistakes may occur).
And during setup, Apple adds a warning: “Summary may change the meaning of the original heading.” Please double-check important information. ” The summary is displayed in italics. Users can also disable the overview for each app directly from the lock screen.
Camera control, PDF, messages
This new slider and button combination on the iPhone 16 series renames the AE/AF lock toggle to “Focus and Exposure Lock” (which makes it more clear).
If you crop content when editing a PDF, Apple now warns users that the cropped area will not be removed from the PDF.
Source character entries are added to the + button in your messages, making it easy to create your own personalized emojis.
Apple iOS 18.3 release date
Apple likes to release software updates preferably on Mondays or Tuesdays. So if this month is still the most likely software release, and I think it is, then there are only two options left. Monday, January 27th or Tuesday, January 28th.
