PUNE: In a controversial statement, Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane compared Kerala to a ‘mini-Pakistan’. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi were elected to the Lok Sabha for this very reason.

“Kerala is a mini-Pakistan and that’s why Rahul Gandhi and his sister were elected from there. All terrorists vote for them. Here’s the truth, you may ask. He became a member of Congress along the way,” Lane said while addressing the rally. At Purandar taluka in Pune district.

Rane, son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, was speaking at a function on Shiv Pratap Din, the anniversary of the historic incident in which Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal Khan when he made this remark. I was doing it.

Mr. Rane won from the Kankavli seat in the recently concluded 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. Mr Lane was given the fisheries and ports portfolios in the new cabinet.

Reacting, Congress spokesperson Atul Ronde Patil slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and questioned the need for Mr Rane to remain in the cabinet. Lane’s job is to do just that.

“What else can we expect from Nitesh Rane? He was elected to do just this. But I want to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis. , has taken the following oath: Created a constitution to (preserve) the sovereignty and unity of India and called the country’s voters “terrorists”. Does he have the right to remain a minister? Here is the question for you. If you (Modi and Fadnavis) call yourself deshbhakts (nationalists), then Nitesh Rane only spreads dharmandata (communitarianism). Is there anyone still in the cabinet? ”
