Are you a fan of luxury Louis Vuitton? Head to 57th Street in New York to not only buy the brand’s fashionable pieces, but eat them too.
Louis Vuitton has opened a new five-story flagship store designed to unite luxury retail, culture and gastronomy, according to a company statement. The store will be a temporary destination as the brand’s historic Fifth Avenue flagship undergoes a three-year renovation.
The impressive Art Deco building is complemented by an interior floor plan that incorporates contrasts. The store’s main component is a floor-to-ceiling installation of the brand’s famous Courrier Lozine 90 trunks. There’s also a vertical wall of Keepall and Speedy bags, showing how the brand maintains a balance between tradition and modernity.
Each floor has a clear focus, with the first floor dedicated to leather goods, and the second and third floors for womenswear and menswear, respectively. On the fourth floor, the luxury brand unveiled a restaurant concept developed in partnership with restaurateur Stephen Starr and Starr Restaurant Group.
Le Café Louis Vuitton’s menu is brought to life by Executive Chef Christophe Bellanca, who earned a Michelin star at his restaurant Essential. Enjoy sumptuous monogrammed ravioli, club sandwiches, scallop soufflé and more in a lush space that combines an upscale cafe and a library.
The store’s fifth floor is divided into several private lounges and sales spaces, displaying pieces from the Art de la Table and Objets Nomades collections.
Louis Vuitton is one of many luxury brands and retailers aiming to create unique spaces that combine cultural, commercial and culinary experiences. Saks Fifth Avenue, for example, is expanding its club concept to various luxury resorts and hotels, while Ralph Lauren is expanding its Polo Restaurant and Ralph’s Coffee stores around Manhattan to attract tourists and foodies to its own retail space. It is used as a pipeline to call.
