A woman flying from Los Angeles to Philadelphia was placed on the TSA’s naughty list after officers found about 90 prohibited items packed in her carry-on luggage.

During a routine X-ray screening at Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday, a Transportation Security Administration agent flagged a woman’s bag after noticing what appeared to be several prohibited items, officials said. .

The police officer opened the bag in front of the passenger and was shocked to see what was inside. They carried 82 fireworks, three knives, two replica firearms and a can of pepper spray, all of which were not allowed in carry-on luggage.

TSA officers are accustomed to occasionally seeing strange objects in passengers’ luggage, but officials said in a news release that this discovery surprised even the most senior employees. Ta.

LAX TSA Federal Security Director Jason Pantages said in a statement: “The amount of contraband found in one carry-on bag is extremely concerning.” “This incident is a reminder to all travelers to double check the contents of their bags before coming to the airport.”

TSA officers contacted Los Angeles Airport Police, who came to the Terminal 4 security checkpoint and questioned the passenger. The airport police’s bomb squad was also called in and seized the explosives.

According to the TSA, fireworks and other explosives are never allowed on aircraft. On the other hand, replica firearms and knives are allowed in checked baggage.

Pepper spray is even more complicated. According to the TSA, one 4-ounce container with a safety seal is generally allowed in checked baggage, but large containers of self-defense spray containing more than 2% of tear gas by mass are not.

Some airlines prohibit the use of pepper spray, so travelers should contact their airline before traveling.
